How is this different from your Retained HR Support?

Retained HR Support is for businesses without their own HR function, where we act as your HR department day to day. Strategic HR Advisory is built for businesses that already have an in-house HR person or team. We are not there to do the day-to-day, we are there as senior backup, escalation and a strategic sounding board for the people already doing the job.

Who in our business would use it?

Usually your HR manager, people lead or office manager who owns HR. They get a direct line to a senior, CIPD-qualified consultant to talk through complex cases, sense-check decisions and plan ahead. Business owners also use it for a confidential strategic view on people matters.

What counts as a complex case you would escalate on?

Anything that carries real risk or sits outside everyday HR: contested grievances, capability and conduct cases involving senior staff, discrimination or whistleblowing concerns, settlement agreements, redundancy and TUPE programmes, and tribunal threats. We help your team handle these with confidence and in line with the ACAS Code of Practice and the Employment Rights Act 1996.

Do you take over the work from our HR team?

No. The point of this service is to strengthen your in-house team, not replace them. We advise, escalate and support. If you do want us to run a specific piece of work end to end, such as a restructure or a tribunal preparation, we can quote for that separately so it never eats into your advisory retainer.
